Unreliable and uncountable services. They caused lots of pain to my friend rather than making her life easier. They wasted her time, caused her stress, didn’t finish the job and didn’t even apologise!

Clickability Phone Review

I'm a nominee for my sister who's an NDIS participant. I found Magnum Property Maintenance on Facebook marketplace. My sister was coming up for a plan review. We were told we should use up the money remaining in the fund before the end of the plan. The provider did $27,000 worth of work on the house. I feel that we’ve been ripped off and I've been lied to. I’m unhappy with the whole procedure. It's still not finished. The worker uses words like it will cost "up to" this amount. I had a meeting with them and my support coordinator and it didn't go well. I felt that they tried to talk their way around it. It's costing more than they quoted from "unforeseen expenses" but when I called the contractors they had not charged more. They didn't cover the floors, and trampled soil into the house made a mess and didn't clean it up. I believe they have damaged my house. The job was supposed to be finished 7 weeks ago and it still isn't finished. I believe the only things that are finished were done by contractors. Magnum workers put on loud music that had a lot of swearing in it. It irritated my sister as well as me. I asked them to put headphones in and they refused and walked out. I was assertive but it made no difference. Everything they did they argued with me about and tried to justify it and made excuses. I believe they upsell and take advantage of vulnerable people.

As a person with a disability living in Melbourne with an NDIS Plan I made contact with Magnum Property Maintenance. I have received exceptional service. They have listened to all my concerns and requests specific to my disability. They have made it easy to get the services that meet my needs.

Your questions, answered

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/how-apply.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
