About

Autism Abilities is an autism-specific NDIS registered service providing a range of services to autistic people and their families. We provide allied health services including speech pathology and occupational therapy, positive behaviour support services, training & education for parents and professionals and skilled support workers through our new platform, The Autism Site. Our staff and offices are located in Melbourne and we provide services online, in our clinic and/or via telehealth. Our vision is for every autistic person to live life well and we love empowering and supporting autistic people to achieve this. We are a team of dedicated and caring professionals and we would love to work with you! As an inclusive, neurodiversity affirming organisation, we do not and never will endorse the use of punishment of any kind or any practices intended to prevent an autistic person from expressing their autistic traits. We are a truly values-driven organisation and our core values are at the heart of the way we work and what we do every single day. Everyone is welcome at Autism Abilities regardless of their background, race, culture, religion, gender identity or sexual orientation.

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/how-apply.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
