Dad has had a good experience with the orientation and mobility training. They understand his needs because of his low vision and are quite accommodating.

However, we had some troubles with NDIS reports and quotes. There was a misunderstanding on what Vision Australia and NDIS needed to do regarding home modifications. This took so long that we weren't able to utilise funding from Dad's first plan which meant this funding was cut in his next plan. In our next plan we didn't have enough funding for therapy, training or home modifications and asked Vision Australia to give us reports/letters providing evidence of this need. Vision Australia took too long to write the reports/provide quotes correctly (they had to be redone several times). This meant we didn't have the evidence we needed for our plan review and it was unsuccessful.

At times, their communication is good, but other times it's hard to get in touch with the right people. Would like to see more consistent communication.

I did some mobility and orientation with them, and they were good. They worked closely with me to find out what vision I had and the best way to get around some difficult areas.

Vision Australia have been amazing. They took us on when no one would give us anything. My son has had physio and OT with them. The service they offered was amazing. With the therapy ans support his vision improved.
