About

Hi, my name is Melissa, and I am the founder, owner and operator of Pathway 2 Support. I am a Social Worker and I have been working in the community sector in Perth, Western Australia for over 9 years. My Social Work career began when I commenced studying my Bachelor of Social Science (majoring in human services) in 2013 at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia. I continued on to complete my Bachelor of Social Work. Since I commenced my career in 2013, I have worked across many sectors of the community services industry in Perth Western Australia, and I have been welcomed into the homes, lives and journeys of so many amazing individuals and families throughout my career. My experiences have led me to create my own private practice so that I can tailor my own services and supports to meet the needs of individuals and families. My approaches are holistic, person-centred, strength-based and problem-solving. I am compassionate, empathetic, understanding, experienced and professional and have a down to earth nature. This allows me to build relationships with the people I support easily.

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/how-apply.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
