First Step Solutions & The Date-Ability Project
We work to create a world where people with disabilities are armed with the knowledge, understanding and confidence to make informed decisions.
The Date-Ability Program
The program is developed and delivered by sexologists, psychologists & counsellors in a small group setting.
We cover key topics within the program
Self-awareness & Advocacy
Boundaries & Consent.
Safe & Healthy relationships.
Interpersonal skills and getting to know someone.
Safe online dating, and online safety in general.
Sexual health & wellbeing
We use a variety of games & interactive activities to assist with breaking the ice and supporting engagement.
The program runs across 12 weeks for 2 hours per week, the final week is a social event which includes catering.
Our Financial Literacy 1:1 program is to empower & encourage NDIS recipients to have a better understanding of their bills and map out a method of saving relevant to them.
We discuss and develop strategies to get a better understanding of their spending habits and use tools to positively change them to reach their goals. Examples of barriers could be "impulse spending" Dopamine spending, quick loans frequently & knowing how to say no to others borrowing money.
This is done over 12 weeks on a one-on-one setting with a Counsellor.
The program is completely tailored to each individual person and their goals.
