ACARES was quite flexible in terms of filling shifts with notice the day before as well as cancellations without too many restrictions. They provide flexible services that is up to the individual themselves and were not restrictive in what I was doing, where I needed to do it and how.

My husband is in a wheelchair and requires personal care at home. We've been using ACARES' services for 6 years. My messages don't get through to the office and we are not notified of changes in our roster or given access to it in advance. We often aren't told who is coming and what times they are arriving or leaving. We aren't informed of shadow shifts and sometimes our SWs don't even know about these. SWs are often not able to do their job properly. We've had no calls to ask if our services going okay. Changes in staff means I now have trouble getting any form of communication to the organisation. I've had to cancel a lot of appointments because of the unreliability of our SWs and the rosterring of my services. I have left messages for the owner for the last 2 years and have not received any response at all. It is appalling. Going to change providers because of the poor service. I would give them 0 stars.

It’s the best organisation I have had in 9 years this is due to a combination of the support staff and the agency.

The Communication is so great I can get in contact in 24 hours a day 7 days a week and speak with someone or my coordinator- it’s incredible I have not had this before.

UPDATED Review: November 2017

Everything was running smoothly then one day, when no one was here, their carer did not show up. I'm unable to even sit on the bed without assistance. So I was stuck in bed until my private carer, by a fluke, checked to discover no one here and came running. It was 11:30 by that time. ACARES didn't even have a system in place to know that their carer had shown up. That is 100 times worse than someone just not turning up for work. Imagine someone with a life threatening condition. Highly irresponsible. I even told Management they needed a tracking/login app but nothing was done and yet again another worker didn't show up. That time was a weekend so my husband home but ACARES didn't become aware no one was here until 2pm. Avoid them like the plague.

Review: July 2017 - 5 stars:

I am locked in (unable to speak) and wheelchair bound so the thought of changing service providers left a knot in my stomach but the team at ACAREs made the transition easy. Their staff were in constant contact and my confidence bloomed with them. The staff are pleasantly capable and have made the whole process of moving a step in the right direction.

Best company in 26 years. Made being in a wheelchair allot easier. Shifts always covered, reliable staff & everyone in the office pleasant to deal with on the phone. Would rate the company 10/10

Around 10 months ago our family was searching for a new care agency to provide Personal Support Workers for my sister after many years of being with another agency. We sought the advice of a few professionals in the industry and were directed towards Accommodation and Care Solutions.

We have been so happy since joining ACARES. Their staff are all lovely and very welcoming and they have provided us with a number of very efficient, kind, caring and professional Support Workers to care for my sister in our home. Each Support Worker has been carefully chosen for us and matched specifically to my sister’s care needs as well as her personality, which was very important to us.

Any requests to our coordinator are attended to immediately and this results in most of the stress and worry being taken away from us when trying to manage my sister’s care needs.

We haven’t looked back since joining ACARES and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for Personal Support Workers.

I think the office staff are really incredibly friendly and so easy to talk to. Generally I take awhile to warm up to people and Accommodation and Care Solutions have made it easy, I feel like I’ve known them all for ages.

What is really excellent is that all the staff are so positive and chirpy, sometimes when they call it’s hard to differentiate between all of them, they are always happy!

Care staff have been great too, one in particular I call her Florence Nightingale, nothing is too much for her.

I would give the staff a 10 out of 10. I’ve had a couple of carers that I’ve had a problem with but as soon as I’ve told staff they’ve rectified it immediately. They’ve sorted it straight away.

Overall this is a terrific service. I am very happy.

Hi, I would like to say how great it has been for myself since we had Acares become part of our care team. His carers have been so sensitive to his condition and the phone staff so accommodating to our every need and request.

Our current Case Manager and the previous ones have always been available to us and always dealt swiftly with our timetable issues and all else we have had problems with, dealing very effectively and quite smoothly with every dilemma, so we have never been stressed and worried about what would happen when difficult situations have arisen for us. Both of us are very happy to have found you and are very pleased with the team we have around us.
