About

We hold our staff to a higher standard than most other organisations. With more training, more supervision, and more transparency, our members receive the highest quality of care in the community. Core to Ascend Health’s unparalleled standards of service is a commitment to employ only university students dedicated to studying health therapies as disability support workers/carers. With support from experienced team leaders and supervision from therapists, they provide a higher standard of care for people with disabilities. Since 2017, we have dedicated ourselves to assisting members of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in various aspects, including daily activities, social and community involvement, as well as therapeutic support. At Ascend Health, we take immense pride in our reputation for delivering top-notch disability support and services. We achieve this by exclusively employing university students pursuing health-related degrees, who undergo workplace training and follow a comprehensive career development program. This ensures that our newly graduated health professionals are well-prepared for their roles in community health and disability services. Our ultimate objective is to create a future where individuals have convenient access to a wide range of health professionals in their homes, with the assistance of university students who contribute to the professionals' interventions and assessments through their discipline-related knowledge.

Your questions, answered

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/how-apply.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
