About

Sunnyhaven SIL Vacancy

Located on a quiet street within walking distance from Rockdale shops and train station we are pleased to offer a placement in our lovely NDIS SDA registered Edwardian Home.

You would be sharing with four other adults all of which have active social lifestyles and are very independent. We have 24 hr Supported Independent Living (SIL) staffing with sleepovers onsite.

The home has three bathrooms, two living areas, a quiet and peaceful rear yard and is supported by SIL transportation.

This placement would suit an adult with low support needs that are relatively independent but require the placement in a shared supports group home.

Ideally you would be aged between 35 to 65 years old.

Our highly trained support staff would assist you to stay in touch with your family and friends, provide transport to and from your regular appointments and day placements or work if needed, encourage you to maintain your health and living skills, and champion you to maintain community connections.

Your questions, answered

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/how-apply.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
