OnPsych is a national organisation that has worked with Australians over the past 50 years to provide mental health support to individuals with disabilities and spread awareness of their psychosocial needs. We recognise that everyone has their own story, and we are committed to improving the lives of the people we support. If you are looking for an enterprise that supports your choices and decisions, let us help create your story by bringing your choices to life. Your questions, answered

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

The first thing to check is your eligibility by visiting the following link: https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/am-i-eligible.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://support.kismet.healthcare/resource-hub/what-are-the-steps-in-the-ndis-process.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
