I signed up with Mable and was immediately and consistently flooded with marketing via email and even direct, unsolicited phone calls. I had to tell them to stop contacting me due to the overwhelming amount of it.

I have been hiring independent contractors from the Better Caring digital platform since September 2015 to support my 25 year old son. He lives in a shared house and has been developing independent living skills for 3 years now. He attends the Arrowsmith educational therapy Program run by 3Bridges and participates in the community. We have chosen four workers that suit the different support requirements and have found them all to be reliable, caring and able to adapt to his specific needs. (NB: I first heard about Better Caring in October 2014 and knew that it was the solution for people wanting choice and control over their supports. I also knew I wanted to be part of the journey and have worked there as an Adviser on the Disability and Mental Health sectors since February 2015).

Your questions, answered

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

To learn more visit https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/am-i-eligible

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/how-apply.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
