About

Hale Community Support operates in a 24hours model of support, providing services to NDIS participants. The respite homes and permanent accommodation are located in the north-western suburbs of Sydney. Each home has the capacity to cater for three to four clients and always have a spare bedroom for emergency referrals or crisis situations. In 2012, a need arises for the organization to provide a group home for an individual with disability who was in a crisis situation and had advocated for his own accommodation. As a service provider committed to a person-centered planning, we provided a home for the individual and the opportunity to explore his strengths and skills in a supportive and a non-threatening environment. Today, this person with an intellectual disability can now speak more than one language and participate fully in community activities. It is their aspirations that we admire and we strive hard to meet any participant’s needs. Hale is expanding and moving inter-states providing Community Access and Drop in Support services in Melbourne and Brisbane in the next month. Currently, we have 2 SIL vacancies. One for Marsden Group Home and the other one for Rooty Hill SIL accommodation for a female participant. We also have short term/respite vacancy!

Your questions, answered

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/how-apply.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
