About

The first step towards changing your life is changing how much you expect from it. Expect Everyday Independence to deliver more change than you imagined possible, by changing the way you think about NDIS disability funding outcomes. The Everyday Way has shown that for over 25 years, the most impactful way to create positive change is with a team-based, community approach to providing therapy. This helps everyone accept participants' differences and the responsibility we all have for changing the disabling attitudes and environments that hold people back. We'll help you understand why a team of practitioners with different training and perspectives is best to help you achieve positive life change. We offer occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy, early childhood supports and positive behaviour support services across metropolitan Melbourne and most of regional Victoria, metropolitan Sydney, Greater Sydney, the Hunter New England and Central Coast regions, metropolitan Brisbane, Gold Coast, metropolitan Adelaide, Metropolitan Perth and Launceston, Tasmania. Our occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists and allied health professionals support people with a wide range of physical, social and intellectual disabilities and their families to focus on their specific needs and circumstances to achieve their goals. With a comprehensive range of assessment, therapy and rehabilitation services, we provide people of all ages with evidence-based quality therapy to support them to meet their goals and build their independence. We do this by providing therapy where people live, work, learn and play, as it's the best way to build your skills, and change community attitude that may be holding you back.

Your questions, answered

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

To learn more visit https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/am-i-eligible

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

The first thing to check is your eligibility by visiting the following link: https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/am-i-eligible.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://support.kismet.healthcare/resource-hub/what-are-the-steps-in-the-ndis-process.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
